Warmth, and the one thing that moves it
Warmth is not a measure of how well you keep in touch. It measures one thing only: whether that person has come back to your branded site and started looking at homes again.
What moves warmth
Exactly three actions, all of them taken by the person, all of them on your branded site while signed in to their account:
- Saving a listing: the strongest of the three.
- Sharing a listing: worth about two thirds of a save.
- Viewing a listing: the lightest, worth about a third of a save.
Roughly six recent saves, or about eighteen recent listing views, is what reaches the 70 mark the Sphere page calls Warming up. Activity fades over time and stops counting entirely after about six months, so warmth reflects recent interest rather than a lifetime total.
What does not move warmth
- Your touches. Sending a campaign, logging a call, or emailing them does not change warmth at all.
- Their opens and clicks on your emails.
- Browsing your site while signed out, or before they ever made an account.
- Searching or reading pages that are not a specific listing.
- Closings and past transactions. A big closing history does not produce warmth.
- Unsaving a listing. It does not push warmth back down.
Why a person shows a dash instead of a number
Warmth starts empty and stays empty until that person's first qualifying visit. A dash means no matching activity has ever been recorded, not a score of zero. Most of a freshly imported book will show a dash, and that is correct.
Three things must line up for a visit to count
- They are signed in to an account on your branded site. Signed-out browsing attributes to nobody.
- That account's email is verified, and it matches the email on their Sphere record exactly. There is no fuzzy matching, no phone fallback, no name matching. If REHL cannot prove it is them, the visit is dropped rather than guessed at.
- They acted on a specific listing that belongs to your brokerage.
Warmth recalculates as soon as new activity arrives, and REHL also re-checks it once a day on its own. So a person who browsed heavily months ago and has not returned will keep fading rather than freeze at their last visit's number. The Past client is back card on Today does not have this problem either way: it only ever lists people with activity in the last 7 days.
Why an example contact never appears in a ranking
A new account comes with a few example contacts so the Sphere page is not blank, and those carry a warmth score like anyone else. They are deliberately kept out of the two places REHL ranks people and tells you to call someone: the Past client is back card on Today, and the People who got warmer this week briefing. Those two are meant to be your own book and nobody else's, so an empty briefing on a fresh account is the honest answer rather than a fault. Deleted and archived people are left out of the briefing for the same reason.
